DANGER, PARALLEL CLAMPS

Danger, Parallel Clamps ! came about from my students in seventh and eighth grade wood shop. Parallel clamps used to somehow fascinate them. Of course, I had to develop a parallel clamp lesson to deal with the problem. The problem was that various comedians of the 30s and 40s. seamed to like to don a parallel clamp on their head to look and act goofy. The problem was that if indeed a student applied one to their head , they could fracture their skull. We had to do the “break an egg” lesson to prevent any potential fractured skulls.(The C-clamp never held the same amount of fame.)
